Golden Blood 3

  1. GOLDEN BLOOD 3 - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on a 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It appears in the book "GOLDEN BLOOD," by Jack Williamson, published by Tamerlane Press in 1978.

Anyone learning to draw has to realize at the very first that nothing is visible unless some source of light shines on it. And a beginner should start learning to draw with a single source of light in mind. Later on the phenomenon of reflected light and multiple sources of light can be learned.

In drawing this picture I had to deal with three sources of light, the main one being the blazing torch lying on the floor. If you put your hand over the torch area you will see where the other two sources of light are hidden.
